I'm a 20-year-old Pittsburgh native, relocating to San Francisco to become Christ's soldier and fight to free those enslaved, hurting, impoverished, and oppressed.

I may never be a super model. I have sleepy eyes, I’m clumsy, and I can jumble my words when I am anxious to speak. I’m not always on time. I can let little things get to me, and I’ve been considered second best. But I’m also a writer, a thinker, and a risk-taker. I’m not afraid of making mistakes, and little things bring me the biggest enjoyment. I appreciate imagination and I laugh a lot. I may not be my ideal, but I am a daughter of the Most High. So I am beautiful. Love yourselves, sisters. God took the time to make you you, and you’re more amazing than you can imagine.

young girls today need to be told that the size of your heart matters a great deal more than the size of your jeans.

you’re beautiful! whichever size you are, whatever “imperfections” you possess, love it!

God woven that into your being when He created you, and He did it for a purpose.

never doubt your worth or beauty- you are a shining daughter of the Most High!

when my heart is in knots that i can’t untangle,

i turn to my bible to do it for me.

“send me, o God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. see if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

I realize now that growing up, I liked the Disney movies about animals ten times more than the ones about princesses.

I try showing those movies.
It just bugs me when I see the younger girls constantly dressing up as princesses. And not like normal, innocent preschool dress-up.
I mean like, they arrive at the daycare in cheap taffeta gowns and WIGS!
Girls need to grow up knowing that they are ALL princesses.
They are princesses in Christ. They are His crowned jewels!
I try telling my kids that they don’t need to wear blonde wigs to be a princess. They were born princesses!
They just need a heart of gold, full of love for Jesus and all His sons and daughters.
I still enjoy re-watching Disney movies with my friends, as long as I can use the experiences to tell my little girls how truly wonderful they all are :)

tonight, after service, a group of us got together at starbucks to discuss more closely our individual experiences from Passion 2012.

it was absolutely incredible to see how on fire for God my brothers and sisters are after having felt God’s presence.

the miracles we experienced, the connections we made, the answers we received to our prayers: ALL is SO real!

i still look at us all and get a moment of, “did this really happen? like, is this real?”

and it is! what our God can accomplish in 4 days is simply UNBELIEVABLE.

it felt great telling them all what God has put on my heart, telling them i love them and that they have my support, and knowing they are going to be on the front lines, fighting for the Name of God alongside me.

we shared our thoughts and feelings with each other, then we layed hands on one another and prayed, praising our Father and His awesome nature in the middle of starbucks. 

i CANNOT wait to see the potential of all these amazing children of God being put into action. the things we will accomplish to bring glory to His holy Name!
