My adoration rests in my SAVIOR. I'm a former missionary and current coffee snob, living on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This blog is my blog for ministry, and little parts of my life you may find fun, inspiring, or crazy. - Kristin, 21.
"Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that- and shudder." James 2:18-19 NIV.

Dead. Every time.

Every time I read that.

James is my favorite. It punches you in the face when you feel high and mighty, and it elevates you when you feel without purpose.

We must live with in an Ephesians 4:22-24 regard for the places that we’ve been in life, and where God has delivered us from.

"You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." Ephesians 4:22-24 niv.

A Christian’s disregard for their past, is a disregard for the significance of the sacrifice made for our salvation, and the value our Father has placed on us as the benefactors of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Remember that you were spiritually dead, and are now marked the Craftsman’s seal of genuinity.

It’s 12:30am. I am listening to Death Cab for Cutie, re-reading Romans, and drinking pink lemonade.

You could search for a reason as to why my night is not perfect.

But, my friend, you will not find one.

Ok, here’s my predicament:

My aunt got an ipad, and is selling her kindle fire. She said I can have it, and bumped down the price super-cheap, knowing I was restricting my spending to bare essentials to save up for YWAM.

I know for the sake of packing and traveling, a kindle is ideal. I could fit the books I need for DTS on there, as well as my bible, and many books that I will have to leave at home, simply because luggage space is limited.

But at the same time, I love just having books. I love, reading them, writing in them, underlining, highlighting, using them to reference, lending them to others to read. I love their SMELL!

So, what should I do? Is it smarter to acquire the kindle, or to stay with a limited amount of books? Thoughts? Opinions?

Tonight has left me extremely discouraged. I feel like I am staring at a steep cliff and about to scale it without any ropes. And I just kinda feel a little lonely right now. So I went to get coffee and write, when I just happened to check my verse of the day on my YouVersion bible app.

"Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." Psalm 42:11.

Sometimes, He just blows me away.

The boys I nanny for were on the computer playing Minecraft while I read a little from my bible. I left to get a drink and came back to find my bible had been autographed.

The book of Acts is now the book of Ethan.

when my heart is in knots that i can’t untangle,

i turn to my bible to do it for me.
