hopelikegoldenanchorsI'm Kristin Hawk, and I am deeply, madly in love with Jesus Christ.
His love for us is immeasurable, and it is given in endless abundance.
I'm a 20-year-old Pittsburgh native, relocating to San Francisco to become Christ's soldier and fight to free those enslaved, hurting, impoverished, and oppressed.
I'm a sinner redeemed, whose main focus is to live to honor my loving God, and to house the heart of my Father.

Hi, everyone! I haven’t been updating here in an extremely long time, and to my severe surprise most of you and then some have stuck it out (KUDOS!). So, if you liked my blog, may I interest you in following my new blog: Coffee With The King.

A lot has changed since discipleship training school, and my tumblr needed a facelift.
So I plan on making Coffee With The King my new full-time blog. It’s a place for all things coffee, Jesus, outdoors, and other beautiful things!
Possibly deleting Hope Like Golden Anchors in some time (possibly).

So, take a moment to check me out at coffeewiththeking.tumblr.com :) love you all!

There are two things I will absolutely never grow tired of.

Coffee and Christ.

Life is as it should be.

Our Father’s House has a welcome mat.

It is carved with valleys. It covers vast oceans. It is freckled with forests and stained with painted canyons. It reached further than the eye can see and occupies every which corner and crevice of this Earth we inhabit.
You are standing on that welcome mat. At this very moment you reside at the threshold of the Kingdom if the Most High, and our Father is saying with favor and love, “Welcome home, my dear child.”

"Our greatest fear should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter. "

Reasons to smile:
- God is good. Now and always.
- 13 days until I leave for California :)
- Tomorrow is Sunday! And 2 church services tomorrow!
- Kayaking a bunch this week.
- God has been teaching me patience and reckless trust in Him, through emotional trial. Can’t say it’s all been easy, but it’s so worth it to know that my heart is being refined to glorify Him.
- And cuz my face is on your dash!! Woohoo!
Have a wonderful night, everyone!!

There have been feelings on my heart lately that been troubling to me.

They’ve been doing a good job at making me feel less than acceptable as a person, and downright insignificant.
Today, I was driving in my car, completely upset and crushed, when this sentence came out of nowhere and placed itself in my head:
“I cherish you, My precious daughter; even when you feel like no one else does.”
Every day, I struggle. But in my times of self-upsetting feelings and negativity, I will remember that my significance is in Him.
And because of that, I am worth more than gold. He loves me so much.

I hope that one day I can have the honor, blessing, and privilege to say that I acted as an instrument of God to bring others to Jesus Christ.

Forget fame. Forget money. Forget all of that.

It’s garbage. It’s rust. It’s disposable.

Let me be a tool for the Lord’s glory and an earth-defined nobody. Then I will be a Father-defined somebody.

Be the Christian without a tongue.

Speak God’s love through your actions and not through your words.

If things for you right now are messed up, if nothing is going your way, if those you love betrayed you, if those you who hurt you are dragging your feet on your walk with God, if times of trouble have you with anchors tied at your ankles, if you feel ashamed, disgraced, forgotten, unloved, forsaken; hear this now- Rescue is coming.

David Crowder Band. “Rescue Is Coming”

Sometimes God makes you wait for the things you want,

Not to test your patience, but because the end result’s value and worth is amplified with every minute you’re willing to sit tight in reverence to His will.

It’ll be hard. But I’m willing to wait.

In the balance of Savior versus self, remember Who should be Sovereign.

“The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.”
1 Corinthians 7: 3-4 NIV.
