“’they have no more wine,’ mary told Jesus (john 2:3). that’s it. that’s all she said. she didn’t go ballistic. she simply assessed the problem and gave it to Christ … next time you face a common calamity, follow mary’s example: identify the problem. (you’ll half-solve it.) present it to Jesus. (He’s happy to help.) do what He says. (no matter how crazy.)”—max lucado
Sometimes it feels like things are crumbling down around us and it is hard to have hope for the future. Sometimes we face imposing challenges that we can’t achieve on our own. This series is about how we can find God in times like these - and how God can help us break through against all odds.
"Then our God will fight for us." -Nehemiah 4:20
P.S. in the opening for this message, they played the speech william wallace gave in the movie “braveheart” as the scots awaited an against-all-odds battle against english troops. he swears in the speech, and so the scene would be church-appropriate, our tech team bleeped it out…a few seconds too late. oopsies, techies.
“While Christians choose to spend their lives fulfilling the American dream instead of giving their lives to proclaiming the kingdom of God, literally billions in need of the gospel remain in the dark.”—David Platt, “Radical”
I decided to fast as a means of clearing some mental clutter, and put the desire of Christ above all other desires I possess.
And my first day was great. My mood was way up all day, despite major stresses at work. I felt motivation like crazy. And reading Christ’s word just seemed so much clearer and even more vibrant.
I absolutely am so excited for what I will gain from fasting, especially involving things with Ywam. :))
My evening was spectacular!
Me and a group of 12 amazing friends. P.F. Chang’s. Absolute nonsensical, ridiculous fun.
Once again, I am in awe: just completely blown away that my Father loves me SO MUCH that He gave me these brilliant friends. These people who have changed my life, and I’d do anything for.
So so blessed!
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- His good, pleasing, and perfect will." Romans 12:2.
